In the RMCA music collection, there are 9 xylophones with wooden keyboards fixed to insulated frames. The calabashes are attached to the main board with resin. Membranes are installed on the calabashes (gourds) of these xylophones to produce a mirliton effect (the buzzing effect). However, we don't hear the mirliton effect since the membranes are broken. According to ethnographical records, this type of xylophone was given the vernacular names 'kalangba' or 'karangba'.
